The Power of Preparation
Creating your own path is not a succession of tested steps; it is the unknown and the rocky steps that build the foundation of life. How you handle the unknown and rocky steps, not only defines who you are now, but allows you to push harder, strive higher and reach further, the next time you are on uneven ground.
Growing up I was raised a Christian but never truly found my faith until sophomore year of high school. My friend invited me to church and even though I didn't want to go, I went to see all my friends. During the service something struck me and after I asked my friend Tyler to talk about Jesus. The next day I was watching a video about the book of revelation and It showed the verse Revelation 3:16:
"So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth."
This verse radically changed my life, and right then in the middle of class I started crying out to God in prayer and He saved me. This led me to catch fire for Him as I started a bible study that has now been going on for a year and a half. I brought the gospel to all my friends and my whole group gave their lives to Christ. My relationship with Jesus means everything to me and it gives me confidence in everything I do. I rely on this confidence so I can be successful, have something that I can always fall back on and something that I can give back as well.
I know that the next year is going to be full of challenges and unknowns. However, I am excited to push myself to the next level, so that I can move forward in fulfilling the destiny that Jesus put inside me.
